Cobra Yachts Canada explains here what information this website collects, how it is used and the choices available to you.
1. Information collected and its use
When you complete a form, we receive the information you provide: your name, email address, telephone number if requested, message and details about the boat or model that interests you. If you submit a configuration, we also receive your selected options and the displayed base price. We use this information to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation and follow up on your boating project. Required fields are identified on the form; without them, we may be unable to process your request.
Newsletter subscriptions and model alerts are separate choices. Each subscription must be confirmed using the link sent by email before it becomes active. Sending an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to promotional communications. We retain preferences, subscription status and the information needed to confirm and record consent.
Operating and protecting the website also involves processing technical information, including IP addresses and connection information. Privacy preferences may be stored in your browser. If Google Analytics audience measurement is enabled, it loads only after you consent to analytics cookies. You can decline these cookies or change your choice in the website's privacy preferences.
2. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be shared with partners involved in your enquiry where necessary to handle it, and with service providers supporting hosting, security and, when configured, email delivery. The website uses Cloudflare to deliver and protect content. We may also disclose information where the law requires or permits it.
Some service providers may process information outside Quebec or Canada. Disclosures remain subject to applicable legal requirements. YouTube videos and virtual tours are offered as external links, without an embedded player on this website. These services and other external websites are governed by their own policies.
3. Security and retention
We apply technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No system can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your enquiry.
Enquiries stored in the website database and their associated technical emails are subject to deletion after 24 months, calculated as 30-day periods. This period applies to website data; correspondence and documents relating to a business relationship may be kept separately according to their purpose and applicable legal obligations.
Deleting information from the active database does not automatically erase copies in dated technical backups. These backups are stored separately with restricted access and are not used for promotional communications. They are managed separately from active data.
Confirmed subscriptions are retained to manage the communications you choose. Unsubscribing stops those communications; a record of withdrawal may be kept to respect your choice. Expired unconfirmed subscriptions are removed by the website's cleanup process. You can contact us about the retention period applicable to your situation or request deletion, subject to the law.
4. Your choices, rights and our contact
Subject to the conditions set out by law, you may request access to and correction of your information and, where the right applies, its disclosure in a structured, commonly used technological format. You may withdraw consent and request deletion of information that no longer needs to be retained. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.
You can unsubscribe from promotional communications using the provided link. Global unsubscribe covers both the newsletter and model alerts. Alert preferences also let you manage the models that interest you. Withdrawing consent does not prevent follow-up on an enquiry you sent us or processing permitted or required by law.
For questions, requests concerning your rights or complaints about personal information, use the contact details of the person in charge shown below.
5. Policy updates
We may update this policy as the website and our practices evolve. The current version is published on this page. Where new consent is required, publishing a change does not replace that consent.
Website analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate statistics about viewed pages, approximate countries, devices and referring sites without setting an analytics cookie. Cloudflare processes the technical data needed for this service under its own terms.
If you accept detailed measurement, a temporary random identifier stored in your browser connects pages and links viewed during a visit with enquiries sent. When present, we also retain the referring website and campaign parameters. No message, email address or IP address is stored in these detailed statistics. Retention is six months by default and may be extended to twelve months. Declining or withdrawing permission stops this measurement without affecting your use of the site.
